The Staff Accountant will work in all areas of accounting including Cash Management, Job Cost Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets and General Ledger. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following among others as assigned:

  • Monthly Journal Entries and assistance with month-end close activities.
  • General Ledger reconciliations and other reconciliations as needed.
  • Prepare and file various returns, including gross receipts taxes.
  • Research tax and GAAP issues and requirements.
  • Prepare and design management reports, including variance analysis.
  • Assist with annual financial audit and miscellaneous other audits.
  • Maintain, monitor and reconcile Fixed Asset accounting records.
  • Assist with maintenance of Work In Process schedules and job cost analysis.
  • Assist other Accounting Staff members with AP and AR related functions.
  • Assist with miscellaneous projects as assigned.


Internal: Accounting Staff, Project Staff, Corporate Controller, CFO

External: Bankers, Vendors, External Auditors


  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Organizational skills and an ability to multi-task
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Enterprise software and Sequel experience is helpful
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Strong Analytical skills, data analysis, problem solving abilities and attention to detail
  • High energy level to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Ability to interact well with others is extremely important


Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Three to five years of accounting related work experience. Construction accounting experience is a plus. Public accounting experience is a plus.
